Multilingual Support

Interviewing in a second language is hard in a specific way: you know the answer, you just need a moment longer to assemble it. That moment is exactly what the copilot buys you.

Interview Languages

Real-time interview assistance and mock interviews are available in:

English · Chinese · Japanese · Korean · Spanish · Portuguese · German · French · Vietnamese · Russian

The same list applies to both features, so you can practise and then perform in the same language.

Choosing Your Language

Set Interview Language when you create the session — it is in Advanced Settings for a live interview, and on the setup form for a mock interview. Your choice is remembered as the default next time.

That language drives speech recognition and is the fallback for everything the AI produces in the session, including the report.

Why there is no "auto-detect"

Speech recognition has to be told which language to transcribe before the first word arrives. Guessing across ten languages makes the transcript worse than simply picking one — and a bad transcript means a bad answer, no matter how good the model is.

So you pick. Pick the language the interviewer will mainly speak.

Mixed-language interviews

Picking one language does not lock the answers to it. If the interviewer switches — a Japanese screening that suddenly moves to English for the technical section, a Chinese interviewer asking one question in English — the answer follows the language of the question that was actually asked. Your chosen language is the fallback for anything ambiguous.

Live Translation

Two optional settings, both in Advanced Settings for live interviews:

• Auto Translation — shows the interviewer's question translated into a second language of your choice, next to the original. Useful when you can speak the language well enough to answer but want certainty about what was asked.
• Dual Language Answer — returns the answer in both the interview language and your translation language. Read whichever you process faster; say the one the interviewer speaks.

Phone Interviews

Phone interviews use a different capture path and currently support English and Chinese only. Everything else runs as an online interview. See Interview Copilot.

Coding Tests

For the Coding Test Copilot, the answer language is the language the AI explains in — and it defaults to your interface language, not the language of the question. Working through an English coding problem while reading explanations in your own language is the normal case, not an edge case.

Interface Languages

The AceRound site and desktop client are available in English, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Turkish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Switch from the language selector at the bottom of the sidebar.

Interface language and interview language are independent — a Turkish interface with an English interview is a perfectly normal setup.

Practical Advice

• Practise in the interview language first. A mock interview in the language you will actually be tested in surfaces the vocabulary you are missing, while it is still free to fail.
• Add domain terms to your keyword set. Company names, product names and technical jargon are what speech recognition gets wrong, in every language.
• Do not read the answer verbatim in a second language. Fluent-but-flat reading is more noticeable than a natural accent. Take the structure, use your own words.
