Mock Interview Guide

A mock interview is a full interview against an AI interviewer that has read your résumé and the job description. It asks what a real interviewer would ask, pushes back when your answer is thin, and scores you at the end.

Do this before the interview that counts, not instead of it.

Setting One Up

1. Open Mock Interview from the sidebar and create a session.
2. Job Position — pick the role you are actually targeting, or create one with its job description.
3. Résumé — the AI builds questions from what is in it, including the parts you would rather it skipped.
4. Interview Difficulty — Fresh Graduate, 1–3 years, 3–5 years, 5–10 years, or 10+ years. This sets how hard the follow-ups get, not just the topics.

6. Knowledge Base (optional) — attach prepared material so the AI knows what you have prepared and can probe past it.
7. AI Copilot Mode (optional) — see below.
8. Start Mock Interview.

During the Session

Answer by voice — hold or tap Space to talk, and again to stop — or type your answer instead. The AI interviewer listens, thinks, and asks the next question, including follow-ups on whatever you just said.

There is no limit on how long a session runs or how many exchanges it takes. End it when you are done.

AI Copilot Mode

With copilot mode on, the same real-time answer suggestions you would get in a live interview appear during practice. Two ways to use it:

• Off — the honest rehearsal. Find out what you actually sound like under pressure.
• On — learning mode. See a strong answer immediately after you have attempted your own, and note the gap.

Most people should do both: once cold, once with the copilot, then cold again.

Your Report

Every session generates a feedback report: how you scored across dimensions, which answers were weak, and what specifically to fix. Reports live in your interview history and can be shared by link.

The useful loop is: run a mock → read the report → fix those answers in your knowledge base → run another one.

What It Costs You

Each session consumes one mock interview from your balance, regardless of how long it runs. New accounts include one. On an active Pass, mock interviews are unlimited. See the FAQ.

Getting More Out of It

• Use the real job description. A generic role produces generic questions.
• Turn the difficulty up one level from where you think you are. The interview you are worried about is not going to be gentle.
• Practise in the interview language, not the one you are comfortable in.
• Answer out loud, not in your head. The gap between knowing an answer and saying it is the entire problem.
• Re-run after fixing. A report you did not act on was just a score.
