Frequently Asked Questions
The Basics
What is AceRound AI?
An interview and assessment copilot. During a live interview it recognises the interviewer's question and puts key points plus a reference answer on your screen within seconds. During an online assessment it reads the question off your screen and streams a solution into an overlay. It also runs mock interviews, predicts likely questions, and keeps a knowledge base the copilot draws on.
Which interview platforms does it work with?
All of them — Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, Skype, and any in-house platform. AceRound does not integrate with the meeting software; it listens to your computer's audio, so what the employer uses does not matter.
For assessments, the same logic applies: it reads the screen, so LeetCode, HackerRank, Codility, CodeSignal, Karat, CoderPad, HackerEarth, take-homes and internal platforms all work.
Which roles and industries is it for?
Any role where the interview is a conversation. Engineering, data and AI; product and design; marketing; sales and customer success; HR and operations; management. New graduates and senior hires alike — the difference is the difficulty level you set, not whether it works.
Can I use it on my phone?
Interviews are created and started from a computer. A phone can join as a second screen to read answers on, and phone interviews (recruiter calls) run in the browser on your computer. See Dual-Device Mode.
Detection and Privacy
Can the interviewer tell?
AceRound runs as a separate application on your desktop or phone. It does not inject anything into Zoom, Teams or Meet. With the desktop client, the answer layer is excluded from screen sharing, window recording and screenshots — the other side sees your original screen.
What gives people away is not the tool. It is reading answers word-for-word and never looking at the camera. Take the structure, say it in your own words.
What happens to my interview audio and transcripts?
Audio is processed in real time so the copilot can hear the question, and interview audio is retained for about 30 days before deletion. Transcripts stay in your account so you can review the session report. You can delete a session at any time from your dashboard, and you can request full account deletion. Our Privacy Policy has the complete detail.
Does it work for technical and coding questions?
Yes. Spoken technical questions get code snippets, architectural reasoning and problem-solving strategy in real time. If the interviewer shares a coding problem on screen, capture it and the copilot solves it in a side panel. For standalone assessments, use the Coding Test Copilot.
How fast are the suggestions?
Key points start appearing within seconds of the interviewer finishing their question, followed by the full answer. Fast enough to keep the conversation natural, which is the actual requirement.
Features and Setup
Do I need to install anything?
Not to try it — the browser version needs no install. For real interviews and every online assessment, use the desktop client: it captures audio without a share prompt, keeps the answer layer off shared screens, and is required for the Coding Test Copilot.
What do I need to run the desktop client?
Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or macOS 13 or later, plus a working microphone and an internet connection. You sign in with the same account you use on the web.
Can I use it for interviews that aren't in English?
Yes — ten interview languages, with optional live translation and dual-language answers. See Multilingual Support.
How do I make the AI answer sound like me?
Three things, in order of impact: upload your real résumé, fill in the actual job description, and build a knowledge base of your own prepared answers. The copilot draws on all three. You can also set an answer style and add a free-text requirement like "keep answers under 60 seconds".
Free Trial and Billing
Is there a free trial?
Every new account gets 30 minutes of real-time interview assistance, 1 mock interview and 2 question predictions — no card required. On top of that, any interview session can be started as a Free Trial (5 minutes) that costs nothing from your balance, once every 20 minutes.
How is my balance consumed?
- Real-time interview assistance — per minute of session time. Ending the session or losing the connection stops the meter.
- Screenshot solving during an interview — per screenshot, billed separately from session time.
- Coding Test Copilot — Quick mode per screenshot, Programming mode per question.
- Mock interviews — one per session, however long it runs.
- Question predictions — one per generated set.
On an active Pass, none of the above consumes balance.
What is the difference between credits and passes?
Credits are a one-time balance. They do not expire and are consumed only by what you actually use.
Passes unlock everything for a fixed period. They are a one-time payment — there is no automatic renewal and nothing recurring is set up on your card.
When does my pass start counting down?
Not at payment. A purchased pass sits in your account until you activate it from the billing page. Buy it whenever it is convenient, activate it right before your interview.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Request a refund within 7 days of purchase and we will refund it in full if you have not used the purchased minutes or pass access. We also refund in full if a technical problem on our side stopped you from using the service. Partial refunds are available for the unused portion. Full terms are on our Refund Policy page.
Troubleshooting
The copilot isn't responding.
Check the audio waveform first. If it is flat, no audio is reaching the copilot:
- In the browser — re-share the interview tab and make sure system audio is included.
- On desktop — confirm the system permission is granted and restart the app.
- Run a Free Trial (5 minutes) session before the interview so you find this out in advance.
The transcript gets names and terms wrong.
Add the company, product and technical terms to your keyword set in My Resources. AceRound can generate a starting set from the job description.
The answers are in the wrong language.
Interview language is fixed when the session starts. End the session and create a new one with the right language.
Getting Help
How do I contact support?
Email [email protected], or use the Feedback entry in the user menu inside the app. Include your account email and, if it is about a specific session, roughly when it happened.
How do I suggest a feature?
The same two channels. We read all of it, and a fair amount of what shipped this year started as a user message — check the changelog for what has landed recently.
