AIApply Alternative: Auto-Apply That Pauses at Submit
AIApply sells auto-apply as credit packs. AceRound Auto Apply uses only official ATS career pages and pauses at Submit. Compared, checked 26 Oct 2026.

TL;DR: AIApply is a broad suite: resume and cover letter tools, an interview assistant, and auto-apply sold as credit packs on top of a subscription. People look for an alternative when they want more say over where applications go and what gets submitted. AceRound Auto Apply is the narrower answer: it only works on official company career pages, fills the form in your own Chrome, and pauses at Submit for you to check. Everything below was checked against each product's own page on 26 October 2026, and I say where I could not check something.
I work on the AceRound side, so read this with that in mind. I'll keep the comparison to things I could read on AIApply's public site and things I know about our own product.
What AIApply actually sells
AIApply's homepage describes a job-search suite: an AI resume and cover-letter generator, auto-apply, an "Interview Buddy" for real-time help during interviews, a job board, a resume scanner and a translator. Its FAQ says the Premium subscription covers the writing and prep tools (monthly or annual billing, with an annual discount, plus a student and recent-grad discount), and that auto-apply is the one à la carte piece, sold as credits in packs "e.g., 100 or 250". The FAQ also says refunds are handled case by case.
Two limits on what I can tell you:
- Prices. The public page does not list dollar amounts; they appear inside the signed-in app. Third-party reviews quote different numbers, so I'm not repeating any. Check the in-app price and the renewal terms before you enter a card.
- Results claims. The homepage advertises counters such as interviews landed and users. Those are the company's own figures and I have no way to verify them.
None of this is a knock on the product. It is a suite, and if you want one login for résumé, cover letters, interview practice and auto-apply, that is a coherent offer.
Why people go looking for an alternative
When you read job-seeker threads about auto-apply tools in general, the same three worries come up, and they are worth checking against any tool you try, AIApply or ours:
- Where do the applications go? Tools that crawl big aggregators can end up submitting to stale or duplicate listings. Ask what the source of the job list is.
- What gets submitted in your name? Long free-text questions, work-authorization answers and salary fields are the places a bot can say something you would never say.
- How does billing end? Auto-renewing subscriptions and credits you can burn through quickly are the recurring theme in reviews of tools in this space. Look for one-time packs or a hard end date.
Review scores move fast, so read AIApply's recent reviews yourself, sorted by newest.

What AceRound Auto Apply does differently
Auto Apply is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. The design choices follow from the three worries above:
- Source: official ATS career pages only. The job library comes from company boards on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workable. Applications are filled on the company's real application page.
- You set the boundaries. You choose role, location or remote, level and companies to exclude. The AI recommends within that range, and a job only enters your apply list once you confirm it.
- It runs in your Chrome, on your computer, so you can watch every step as it fills the form.
- It stops before Submit by default. You see the filled form (and a screenshot) and decide. If a required answer is not in your profile, for example a visa-sponsorship question, it shows you the blocker instead of guessing.
- Open questions are written from your résumé and the job description, not from a template, and you can read them before anything goes out.
Price comparison, as of 26 October 2026
| AIApply | AceRound Auto Apply | |
|---|---|---|
| Free start | Not confirmed on the public page | 5 applications |
| Auto-apply billing | Credit packs (100 / 250 given as examples), on top of Premium | $29 for 50 applications, one-time, no expiry; or $49 for 30 days unlimited, no auto-renewal |
| What counts as one application | Not stated on the public page | Form filled to Submit, or submitted. Failed, skipped and re-run do not count |
| Where it applies | Not stated on the public page | Official ATS career pages (5 platforms) |
| Submit step | Not stated on the public page; the site says you can review drafts | Pauses before Submit by default |
| Resume / cover letter suite | Yes (Premium) | Cover-letter style answers per job; no separate résumé builder |
| Interview help | Interview Buddy | AceRound Interview Copilot, sold separately |
| Platforms | Web | Windows and macOS desktop |
Unlimited has a fairness line: after 40 applications in 24 hours, new ones are spaced about 10 minutes apart instead of being blocked. I'd rather tell you that than have you find it mid-run.
Who should stay with AIApply, and who should switch
Stay with AIApply if you want one subscription for résumé rewriting, cover letters, interview help and a job board.
Try Auto Apply if your target list is companies that hire through Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters or Workable (most startups and many large tech employers do), you want to see every form before it goes out, and you would rather pay for a block of applications than a subscription.
Using both is a fair answer too. Nothing stops you drafting a résumé elsewhere and using Auto Apply for the filling.
A sensible way to test any auto-apply tool
- Pick five roles you would really want and apply in review mode only.
- Read every field that was filled, especially work authorization, salary and free-text answers.
- Count how many you would have sent as-is. If it is fewer than four of five, the tool is saving you typing but not judgment.
- Check how the thing bills after a month.
When the applications start turning into interviews, the next problem is the interview itself. That is what AceRound's interview copilot is for, and the free Auto Apply tier is enough to run the test above first.
FAQ
What is the best AIApply alternative?
It depends on what you wanted from AIApply. A single subscription with résumé, cover letter and interview tools is the closest swap if you liked the suite. If your complaint is volume without control, AceRound Auto Apply is the narrower option: official ATS pages, your own Chrome, a pause at Submit.
How does AIApply charge for auto-apply?
Per its own site, Premium covers the writing and prep tools and auto-apply credits are sold separately in packs. Exact amounts sit inside the app, so confirm them there before paying.
Is there a free AIApply alternative?
Auto Apply includes 5 free applications; only forms filled to Submit or submitted count. After that, $29 for 50 (one-time, no expiry) or $49 for 30 days unlimited with no auto-renewal.
Which job sites does AceRound Auto Apply apply on?
Company career pages on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters and Workable, so each application goes to the employer's own page.
Does Auto Apply submit applications without asking me?
Not by default. It stops before Submit so you can review. You can switch to automatic submission in settings.
Which platforms does Auto Apply run on?
It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS.
